The tax on all paper products made the colonist very mad. They believed they shouldn't be taxed with representation, for they had no say in the act.
The Intolerable Acts (1774)
We won't stand for this!
The Boston Massacre was a major event in Boston. A group of colonist surrounded British soldiers, angry about all the taxes. They started attacking the soldiers and they fired into the crowd. Killing five people.
The First Continental Congress (1774)
The colonist were angry that Britain banned all smuggling and taxed tea, so they dressed up like Native Americans and dumped the tea into the harbor. The British were furious.
Britain passed the Intolerable Acts. This act closed the Boston Harbor, canceled the Massachusetts charter, and took away most of the colonists rights.
The colonist, mad at the British for the Intolerable Acts. All came together, except for Georgia , in Philadelphia. This is where they agreed to the idea of a revolution.
The British can't do this anymore! We need to form our own country!
