From now on, we will drink our own tea made from raspberry leaves.
Boston Massacre 1770
The Proclamation Line of 1763, came after the 7 years war. England won the war and by their side was the Iroquois Confederacy. The Iroquois came into conflict with the colonist because they were settling on Native land. The line was drawn when the conflict was big. The colonist were not allowed to settle West of the Appalachian Mountains. Which was very upsetting for the colonist and some settled anyway.
Boston Tea Party 1773
Throw it over!
The Daughters of Liberty was a group of colonist woman that were sick of the taxes and the way England was treating them. They decided to sew their own clothes and not buy some from England. They also hated the tax on tea like most other colonists, so they would make their own tea using raspberry leaves. They helped people understand that they don't have to sit back and let England treat them so badly.
The Intolerable Acts 1774
We are closing the harbor and we are cutting off your town meeting!
The Boston Massacre was a night when protesting went too far. The redcoats were lined up trying not to get hit by the flying things the angry colonist were throwing. Many colonists were yelling fire into the streets. The redcoats thought that their commander yelled fire so they opened fire. Five people died that night including Crispus Attucks.
The First Continental Congress 1774
My good men thank you for coming to night to repesent the 13 colonies
The Boston Tea Party was the night when some colonist had decided they had had enough with the tax on tea they bought from England so they snuck onto an English ship that held a lot of expensive tea. The colonist dressed up as Native Americans and threw the tea into the harbor.
The intolerable acts were put in place after the Boston tea party to control the people because England believed they should be punished for what they had done to the tea. The British Closed off the Boston harbor and they stopped town meetings, so the colonist cannot plot anything against England.
You can't do that
The first continental congress was when delegates from twelve of the Thirteen Colonies met to discuss how they could fight against the intolerable acts. To consider all options including economic boycott, and though it was unsuccessful it led to the second continental congress.
