  • The Sugar Act-1764
  • Old Fashioned Candy
  • What do you mean I have to pay 50 cents extra?
  • The Boston Massacre-1770
  • FIRE
  • The British are not allowing colonists to expand westward.  This is an important because this really makes the colonists mad, causing their hatred for the British to grow.
  • The Boston Tea Party-1773
  • The British put a tax on all sugar and molasses, which of course also
  • The Intolerable Acts-1774
  • Due to the quartering act, I am allowed to go into your house and you must feed me.
  • 'Unprovoked' British Soldiers shoot at a colonist crowd.  5 are killed, and 6 more are injured.  This will be known as the Boston Massacre.  The Boston Massacre is a very important moment because this is what really propels serious conflict between the British and the colonists
  • First Continental Congress-1774
  • What are we going to do about these pesky Brits?
  • Members of the group "The Sons of Liberty" poorly disguise themselves as native americans and throw over 1 million dollars worth of tea into the Boston Harbor.  This causes the British to release the intolerable acts.
  • Tea
  • This will show those dumb British!
  • As a result of the Boston Tea Party, the British released the Intolerable acts, a series of completely unfair laws like the quartering act, which forced colonists to have to house and feed any British soldiers.
  • That's Pish Posh!
  • A group meeting was held between some of the most famous people in America at the time.  This would be known as the first continental congress, and, would end up , after a heated debate, having the colonists basically just ask the British to take away the Intolerable acts.  If only this worked.
  • I need to make sure my slaves are on task...
  • I say we start a major seven year conflict that will leave us with tons of casualties but also our own independence!
