Later, police question many witnesses about strange noises they heard on the night of the murder. But the eyewitnesses's stories don't match up.
The next day, a detective and two police officers investigate the crime scene. they take careful measurements of the doorway, window, chimney, and bodies.
Edgar and Dupin stroll and discuss the case.
Later, Edgar and Dupin go to the crime scene to offer their help.
