  • "How, then, am I mad? Hearken! and observe how healthily—how calmly I can tell you the whole story." 
  • The eye haunts me, so I dicided to kill the old man I loved 
  • The man groaned in fear, a pained groan
  • Who's there?!
  • The narrator explains that he's not mad and why he isn't.
  • .I killed the old man, and in the bathroom, I cut him up and hid him under the floorborads
  • The Narrator waits and listens for the old man to see when he can strike
  • “Villains!” I shrieked, “dissemble no more! I admit the deed!—tear up the planks!—here, here!—it is the beating of his hideous heart!”
  • The old man wakes up to try to see who's there
  • THE END
  • The Narrator killed the old man, cut him up and hid him. 
  • Thump Thump
  • The Narrator invites Police into his house, confident that he would not be caught, but then he heard the heartbeat of the old man. And he paniced and admited to the dead.
