The year is 1937 and Hugo and his family are in Germany and are going to fly on the Hindenburg Zeppelin to get back to New York City. His sister is sick and the treatment they need is only in New York City.
As they are about to get onto the airship, a German soldier boards the ship and says he's looking for an American spy that was stealing German files.
The Hindenburg is close to landing in New York, but they are delayed and can't land because of a fog. This gives The German more time to find the spy.
The German finds the spy, Mr. Singer which is one of Hugo's good friends. As he is about to shoot him, the airship explodes and starts a fire.
The ship falls to the ground and explodes in a ball of fire. Hugo and Mr. Singer make it out alive from jumping out. They are rushed to the hospital for getting badly burnt and injured.
Everybody heals from the disaster and they cure Hugo's sisters illness. Some people were safe but 35 died in this horrible day in history.
