  • The War of 1812
  • Great Britain didn't want the Americans trade with France because Britain & France were at war with each other.
  • NO TRADING WITH FRANCE!
  • President Thomas Jefferson passed the Embargo Act in 1807. The Embargo Act says that American ships cannot sail across the Atlantic Ocean and trade with Great Britain, france and any other European countries.
  • America will not be allowed to trade with any European countries
  • People in the South and West wanted to go to war with Britain. However, New England did not want to go to war probably because they did a lot of trading with Britain.
  • WAR WITH BRITAIN!
  • NO WAR WITH BRITAIN!
  • The Americans suffered a lot of defeats because they didn't have any training, were poorly equipped, and were outnumbered.
