Mr. Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson are starting a case on the mysterious goose that had the Blue Carbuncle (a stone) in its stomach. Holmes believes that the hat on the table has some sort role in this tale.
On the 22 of December, there was a robbery at the Hotel Cosmopolitan. Head of the hotel, James Ryder, gave evidence that a plumber, John Honer, has Stolen the Blue Carbuncle.
Sherlock and Watson decide to go investigate where the goose came from. So, they go to a parlor where Mr. Breckenridge sells the geese.
At the parlor, Mr. Breckenridge is yelling at a man for asking where his goose is. "I've had enough of this!" After that, Holmes Asks what the little mans' name is. The man tells him James Ryder.
Holmes, Watson, and Ryder ride home to Holmes apartment. There, Holmes investigates Ryder and tells him that they had the Blue Carbuncle. Ryder grew pale and weary while Sherlock explains everything.
Sherlock explains how Ryder framed the plumber and stole the Blue Carbuncle. Ryder asks for forgiveness and begs that he won't do anything like it again. Sherlock yells at him to get out, because if he were to be put in jail now, he would be a jail bird for life
