Dinwiddie's troops with George Washington in command attacked the French Fort.
Fort Duquesne beat the British. The counter attack caused a world war and spread to Asia, Europe, Africa & the West Indies
British and Colonial troops overwhelmed 2 French forts near Nova Scotia. When they fought back, they killed Braddock and Washington retreated which saved half of his army.
In 1756 & 1757, French General Louis-Joseph de Montcalm destroyed British forts on Lake Ontario and Lake George. While doing this, Indians raided British frontier settlements in Pennsylvania and Virginia.
In 1758 & 1759 the British cut off French shipping to the Americas. Many Indians left the French and went to the British who were better supplied.
The cut off of supply to the French allowed the British to capture Fort Duquesne. They also captured the key French fortress of Louisbourg which gaurded the access of the St. Lawrence River.
