  •   Ordinary World
  • You have to let Odysseus go, he has to help his son. Telemachus is in great danger
  • But I love him and he has to go
  • Call to Adventure 
  • Hermes told me that you have to go, Please don't leave me...
  • I have to save my son, I'm sorry
  •  Allies/Helpers
  •  I offer you this bread, water and wine to help you on your journey  
  • Oh, Thank you
  • Odysseus has to leave and the goddess, Calypso, fell in love with him. He is supposed to be with his wife and son  
  • The Road of Trial
  • Calypso Doesn't want Odysseus to leave and save his son. He doesn't get any help from anyone so it will be a struggle
  • Supreme Ordeal
  • Odysseus did not know at the time that as each god or goddess helped him on the trip that it would be harder for him to get home
  • Confronting the Father
  • He took the veil so at this moment a wave crashed and took down Odysseus's raft ripping it into pieces   
  • But you must leave your raft at once and swim to shore. Take my veil, for it is enchanted. You will come to no harm as long as you possess it.
  • At this point in the book he accepted the gifts from the goddess's and so the gods are battling him. This was just making Odysseus's trip harder.
  • Mercifully, the gray-eyed goddess slipped down from the heavens and appeared at his side.  She closed his weary eyes and pulled him down into a sweet sleep that took his pain and sorrow
