Storyboard Text

  • Hatchet - Austin
  • Main character: Brian
  • setting: woods in Canada
  • Author : Gary Paulsen. Historical fiction. I rate this book 5 stars because Brain's plane crashes and he has to survive in the forest.
  • 3 Events
  • Brain finds rasberries and starts picking when a bear comes out. The bear leaves and Brian goes back to picking berries before heading back to the cave.
  • Brian is an 11 year old boy who's parents divorce. So he has to go on a plane to Canada to see his dad. His mom also gives Brian a hatchet before he took his flight to Canada. The plane crashes and Brian has to survive in the wilderness by himself
  • Climax
  • The setting of this book is somewhere in the Canada woods. His plane crashed in an L shaped lake and he finds shelter in a cave. That is were the story takes place.
  • ending
  • A tornado comes and grabbed and though Brian's home. After the tornado the plane's tail sticks out and Brian starts thinking about the survival pack.
  • Brian makes a bow and arrow so he can shoot fish and birds. At first Brian could not shoot the fish but remembered that the water makes them look higher then they are. Then Brian could shoot fish easily.
  • The solution of this book is that after a tornado hit Brian sees that the tornado lifted the plane's tail out of the water. So then he remembered the survival pack. Then Brian builds a raft to get over to the plane. Then Brian after he gets the pack pens it to a transmiter and other stuff. then Brian tries the transmiter and a person comes and rescues Brian.
  • the story ends after Brian uses the transmitter. Then after Brian flips the on and off button Brian thinks it does not work.So Brian looks at other things in the pack. There is lots of food so Brian stacks them. Then he starts making a feast. Then a plane comes down and tells Brian that he heard his transmitter
