  • One thing that caused WWI is Nationalism. Nationalism is devotion to your country.
  • Another cause of the war was that on June 28, 1914 a Serbian assassin shot and killed Archduke Francis Ferdinand, the heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary. 
  • One main event of WWI was Trench warfare. Trench warfare was a style of fighting in which both parties dug trenches and fought.
  • Another main event of WWI was the invention of the machine gun, a fully automatic weapon that cut down soldiers as they rushed each others trenches.
  • One effect of WWI was the Treaty of Versailles, which was the final peace treaty of World War I. It forced the Germans to accept the blame of starting WWI.
  • Another affect of WWI was its affect on European borders, some country's became independent and others were brand new.
