  • Being physically fit is an important part of health, and it can decrease your risk of serious health complications. The three different types of physical activity are cardiovascular exercises, resistance exercises, and flexibility exercises. Each of these types can help with different aspects of health, and when all three are performed regularly, you will generally have good health. However, physical activity is not the only thing that affects your health, genetic factors also play a role in health.
  • Although most people associate being physically fit with being lean or skinny, that is not true for everyone. Not everyone can achieve that look due to their natural body type.
  • The three different body types are ectomorph, endomorph, and mesomorph.
  • People with an ectomorph body shape have low body fat, and low muscle. They appear tall and lean with long legs and arms.
  • People with an endomorph body type have high body fat and low amounts of muscle. They have wide hips, short necks, and round faces.
  • People with a mesomorph body type have low body fat and lots of muscle. They also have bigger bones. They usually appear muscular and well proportioned.
  • It is also important to try to prevent injuries during physical activity to stay in good health. Although injuries can occur any time, some simple things you can do to prevent them are cool downs and warm ups after and before exercise.
  • If you do get an injury during physical activity it is important to acknowledge it and take care of it properly. If you have a serious injury you should see a doctor, as some injuries can become very serious when left untreated and you may need surgery in some cases.
