I Pope Gregory declare a new rule. Popes now have the authority to dethrone kings and choose bishops!!
I don't agree with Pope Gregory's new rules. Therefore, I will not listen to them. So...I hereby declare Bob the new bishop of Milan.
That's it! The King is hereby BANNED FROM THIS CHURCH!
I must remove the Pope from his position!! I'm sick of him!!
Pope Gregory has now announced that the popes and able to dethrone kings and choose bishops. This is a threat to king Henry. Not only has he lost power, but he can be dethroned.
Oh please, Pope Gregory. Please forgive me!!
King Henry was very upset with the new rules that were established by the Pope. He decided to rebel against them by naming his own bishop. This is the beginning of the King v Pope conflict.
King Henry, you are forgiven and can return to the Church.
They both realized they HAD to get rid of each other. The Pope banned the King from his church. The King attempted to remove the pope from his position.
Ahhh...feels good to be back!!
Since the King was removed from the church, he had to beg the Pope to let him come back to the church. It took him 3 days in the cold to try to reach the Pope's forgiveness. He was determined and would not give up.
Pope Gregory finally forgave the King. The King was overjoyed that he was forgiven. This had now proved Pope Gregory to the highest power.
Thank you so much, Pope Gregory!
The King was glad to be back. Although, he had realized that the Pope had more power. The King learned to be ok with not having complete power.
