I saw kids playing in the neighborhood, I didn't understand them. But I wanted to have the same amount of fun I saw in their eyes
We arrived to the friends house
They discussed the coffee shop event, where we got kicked out of because of our language barrier
My mom introduced us, I was a little shy. Even though she was a stranger I still finally felt something I haven't felt in a while... safety. This is because we finally had something in common with someone, language.
I overheard them really getting into the whole getting kicked out of the coffee shop scene, I didn´t see it then but I saw that my mom really got affected by it
My mom´s friend decided that kicking someone out of a store for there lack of a language cannot be justified by any reason.
I fell asleep later in the convo but before I did I heard some of the dialogue
She decided to call the owner, knowing nothing would result from her calling, but she still did. This showed a new level of courage
She gave me hope, she introduced the level of trust and understandment
Back to 10 years later, I feel comfortable with my language and never feel like a language is a barrier. All because of someone giving me hope to prove myself
