The Fredonian Rebellion was for a empresario named Haden Edwards that earned a contract to settle families near Nacogdoches. The contract said that he had required him to respect property rights of people who had land titles. Haden had chosen not to do so and made everyone pay taxes. Edwards angered people over their their land titles. The alcalde election was overturned due to questions of fraud which led to the new alcalde's arrestment.

The Mier y Teran Report was a report that warned mexican officials that american influence was to strong in Texas. The report said Mexico needed to take actions to keep Texas. It also include that americans outnumbered tejanos 10 to 1. The report urged them to increase trade between Texas and Mexico to stop them to stop trade with the U.S. It included that american influence needed to be limited.
Unaware that tension of Anahuac was over John Austin and his group of troops loaded a cannon on his ship in Brazoria. Soon after they reached velasco Colonel Ugartechea refused to let rebels pass. On June 26, 1832 fighting started and ended after three days when the Mexicans ran out of ammo and surrendered. Many were wounded and some were killed on both sides. Santa Anna was elected because he promised to the texans to restore the Constitution of 1824.
Battle of San Jacinto
The Battle of Gonzales started when texans became angry with Santa Anna. Ugartechea ordered the people of Gonzales to hand over the cannon. The people of Gonzales would not hand it over so Ugartechea tried to take it by force., but they said they could not hand over the cannon. Thus began a war. The motto was "COME AND TAKE IT CANNON. No texans were killed, but on Mexican soldier died.The mexican soldiers withdrew to San Antonio.
On February 23 a lookout spotted mexican troops coming towards the Alamo, the charge was led by Santa Anna.The people who were in the Alamo expected a siege and gathered food, ammunition, and other supplies. On February 24 the Battle of the Alamo started with firing guns. A colonel named William B. Travis wrote a plea saying "To the people of Texas and All Americans in the World."He died a soldier who didn't forget what is due to honor & his country.
Leader of the texans, Sam Houston moved quickly to Harrisburg to find Santa Anna's troops. Houston had approximately 900 soldiers and Juan Seguin. Texas troops moved in at about 3:00 P.M. Mexicans were awakend by gunfire and battle cries saying "Remember Goliad!", and "Remember the Alamo!." The battle of San Jacinto lsted 18 minutes. This fight brought Texas to Independence.
