  • The Fredonian Rebellion
  • The Mier y Teran Report
  • The Law of April 6, 1830
  • Lets start making taxes on U.S. imports
  • Haden Edwards got his empresario  in 1825 from the Mexican Goverment.The contract gave Haden Edwards permission to settle 800 families  near Nacogdoches.Edwards angered his people over their land titles.An alcade vote was overturned due to questions of fraud.The new Alcade was arrested!
  • Battle of Gonzales
  • Mier y Teran began his inspection tour in the early 1828. He noted that Mexican influence decreased in Texas. Mexico needs to take actions to keep Texas. Mier y Teran made several recommendations to the Mexican president.He encouraged  increasing trade between Texas and Mexico to discourage trade with United States. 
  • Battle of the Alamo
  • The  Law of April 6,1830  banned immigration.The Law suspended unfilled empresario contracts.Only Stephen F. Austin and Green DeWitt,were allowed  to keep their contracts. Although Americans would not be able to to become empresarios under the new law.They began to tax ALL U.S. imports in Texas.
  • Battle of San Jacinto
  • The Battle of Gonzales is considered  the beginning of the Texas Revolution.A month earlier  the resistance had begun off the mouth of the Brazos River.A Texas steamboat and merchant ship attacked the Mexican the coast guard vessel Correo de Mexico. The presidio had been  left largely unguarded.Mexican coast guard vessel Correo de Mexico had been patroling the Texas  looking for smugglers.A large volunteer force from towns captured the presidio at Goliad.  
  • Travis sent out  several request for help. General  Santa Anna believed the fall  of the Alamo  could convince Texas to surrender.He wrote a letter that he had achieved ''a complete and glorious triumph''. There was only  a few Texans that survived the Alamo.Susanna Dickinson was one of the survivors .
  • The Battle of San Jacinto only lasted about 18 minutes.Santa Anna disappeared during the battle.The next day he was found  hiding in the marsh.The texas army won the Battle of Jacinto and the war.In 1836 marked the end of the Texas Revolution.
