Storyboard Text

  • Hehehe.. I'm going to send all of our weapons and cavalry to Athens and leave all of the soldiers down in Marathon to launch a surprise attack! Gee, I am SO smart!
  • FIGHT!
  • FORWARD! ARROWS, NOW!
  • We're strong AND smart!
  • We have more soldiers!
  • Darius I of Persia, decides to launch a surprise attack on the Athenians by fighting them in Athens, and bringing all of the weapons and cavalry ahead before the soldiers, leaving them with light weapons in Marathon.
  • You must confront the soldiers in battle.
  • The Athenians marched onto the beach and met the Persians at battle, before Darius was able to arrive at Athens.
  • HELP!
  • There were many famous strategies performed in the battle, but it was mostly based off of courage and strength. The Athenians slaughtered anyone in their path, even though they were heavily outnumbered.
  • I'm so tired though..
  • Sorry guys, but we kind of have to walk 26 miles, and beat Darius to Athens...
  • One of the most famous Athenians generals was Miltiades, who persuaded the soldiers to confront the Persian soldiers in battle.
  • The battle lasted for about 3 hours, before the desperate Persians ran for the ships, and fled from the war, but the Greeks followed them, and claimed victory, while driving their enemy out from the shore.
  • COME BACK HERE, COWARD!
  • It was a quick battle, but Miltiades sent the fastest soldier, Pheidippides, to sprint 26 miles to Athens, who was able to yell,'Nike!' Before he died from exhaustion. Miltiades then lead his battle weary soldiers for a 26 mile walk to Athens.
