  • Haden Edwards got an empressario contract from the Mexican government in 1825.Many of the old settlers were mad at him because he made them pay additional money for land they had already bought years before.His contract, was canceled by the Mexican Government on October 1826.On December 21,1826 the Fredonion Declaration of Independence was issued.The rebellion ended after Haden Edwards fled when he heard that the Mexican troops and Stephen F. Austin's militia were coming.
  • The Battle of the Alamo 
  • Green DeWitt was an emoressario in 1831 he wrote to officials in Bexar that there was Indian attacks, he feared for his colony, but he had no way of defending his people.The Mexican government sent him a bronze 6 pound cannon, for defense against hostile Indians.About 4 years later Mexican general Domingo de Ugartechea ordered Gonzales civilians to hand over the cannon.The people of Gonzales made excuses, while they sent riders to nearby towns asking for help against the Mexicans at Gonzales. They did not give up the cannon.
  • The Goliad Massacre 
  • Erustus "Deaf'' Smith, one of Edward Burleson's scouts told him that he saw more than 100 Mexican soldiers with packed animals. A rumor started to spread that the Mexican soldiers were carrying silver. Edward sent a squad lead by Bowie, he was going to ambush the Mexican troops and take their silver. They defeated the Mexican, soon to realize they were carrying grass for there mules. Some troops were thinking the seige was working because the Mexican forces needed to feed starving animals. 
  • The Battle of San Jacinto
  • The Alamo was being protected by 200 Texan soldiers ,against the 1,800 soldiers on Santa Anna's side. Bonham left to get help, he had to sneak back in soon after.  Juan Seguín had to sneak out of the Alamo the ask help from Goliad, little help came. Many more fighters left to get reinforcements against the Mexican Soldiers. Travis sent one last call for help by writing a letter to Washington-on-the-Brazos. Early in the morning Mexicans soldiers attacked the walls of the Alamo. They came in hundreds and hundreds of them rushed in and killed nearly every defender there was. 
  • On March 27th, Mexican soldiers killed more than 400 Texans on the outskirts of Goliad. The Mexican soldiers killed Fannin's troops as well some Texan troops. Some people escaped the massacre with the help of a woman named Francita Alavez, she was traveling with the Mexican troops. She helped few people escape. People later called her the Angel of Goliad.
  • Sam Houston and his men traveled to Harrisburg  and set up campin a grove of oak trees on high ground. Santa Anna and his men arrived that afternoon and set up their camp in the junction of the San Jacinto River, below the grove of oak trees. Sam Houston saw the Mexican camp. He had a meeting the next day, they decided to attack that afternoon. At 3:00 p.m. the Texans moved to a prairie. The Mexicans were asleep.  The battle lasted 18 minutes, the Texans had won. They had caught  Santa Anna and sent him to prison.
