  • Austria-Hungary is far better than Serbia!
  • Nationalism and rivalries led to the outbreak of World War 1.
  • How dare you? It is not!
  • DIE!!!
  • A Serbian assassin shot and killed Archduke Francis Ferdinand
  • After Archduke Francis Ferdinand was assassinated, Austria-Hungary called war.
  • Soon, German U-boats began attacking U.S.A. supply ships. The U.S warned them to stop bu they ignored
  • After Germany refused and ignored the U.S. warnings, the U.S. joined the war on the Allies side.
  • Trench warfare were used to protect the soldiers. This cause the war to last longer. 
  • Victory is ours!
  • Finally, the Allies stole the victory. Millions of soldiers had been killed and million were wounded.
  • A treaty called Versailles was made. It said that Germany must slash the size of their Army.
  • It also said that Germany had to give up its overseas colonies. Germany had to pay billions of dollars for damage during the war.
  • As a result of this war, many countries gained independence. Russia developed a communist government.
  • World War 1 changed the governments of some European counties and the boundaries of others.
