Philip the Second used many different tactics to gain control of the Greek city-states. He was determined to fulfill his destiny of uniting the Greek city-states and to spread Greek culture. He was assassinated before he could do so.
Alexander the Great, taught by Aristotle, was determined to fulfill his fathers destiny. He succeeded and wanted more so he continued to grow his empire. He was the king of Asia and he died at thirty-three.
After Alexander's death the empire split into three parts Persian, Egypt, and Greece.
