  • The Fredonian Rebellion
  • I am Hayden Edwards and I am starting the Fredonian Rebellion!
  • The Battle of Velasco
  • Oh no our Mexican soldiers are running out of ammo.
  • The Battle of Gonzales
  • Come and take it cannon!
  • Haden Edwards was an empresario and in 1825 he received an empresario contract from the Mexican government, his contract allowed him and 800 families to live near Nacogdoches.  When he got there and there were Mexican families, Anglo Americans, and Cherokees living there that have lived there for more than 100 years, these people were known as the "old settlers".  His contract said he had to leave those peeps alone, but he didnt  like that rule of his contract and demanded them to pay him extra fees for the land that they already bought.  Finally on December 21,1826Edwards issued the Fredonian Declaration of Independence, and started the Fredonian Rebellion.
  • The Battle of the Alamo
  • Theres so many Mexicans, WERE ALL GONNA DIE!!!
  • Haha we Mexicans have got you Texans now!
  • This event would start soon after John Austins group loaded a cannon on a ship at Brazoria.  They reached Velasco near the heart of the Brazos River.  Colonel Domingo de Ugartechea, who was the comander of of the Mexican troops at Valesco didnt let the rebels pass through .  So on June  26, 1832, fighting started at Valesco.  After three long days of fighting the Mexicans ran out of ammo and was forced to surrender.  This event was known as the Battle of Valesco, the colonist might have won the battle but men from both sides lost their lives.
  • The Goliad Massacre
  • Dont hurt us please.
  • Sorry you must die.
  • In the year 1831, empresario Green DeWitt wrote a letter the the Mexican officials in Bexar, he said in his letter that he feared American Indian Attacks against his colonyand was needing a way to defend themselves.  As an answer to DeWitts request the Mexican government sent him a small six pound cannon.  In 1835 the people of Texas were unhappy with the Mexican government because of the actions of Santa Anna, and scared of the trouble that might happen Mexican General Domingo de Ugartecha ordared the people give the cannon back that they have given them four years ago, but the people of Texas refused and as response to those actions Ugartecha sent troops to take the cannon from them with force.
  • The Battle of San Jacinto
  • Remember the Alamo!
  • The ballte started on Febuary 26 when Mexican soldiers began firing at the Alamo.  On that same day the commander of the Alamp, William Barrett Travis ,  wrote a letter requesting for more soldiers and aid for the wounded in the battle.  On the fourth day of fighting, Mexican cannons bombarded the Alamo but Travis and his men did not return fire to save there ammo for a full out attack.  After the Mexicans regrouped after trying to attack but were halted by the Texas troops they entered the Alamo by the houndreds.  After the smoke had cleared from the Alamo almost all of its defenders had fallen.
  • On March 19 the Texas troops started into an open feld just outside of Goliad to rest there animals and thereselves inside of a heavy fog.  But then Urrea and his main army had surrounded the Texans.  The Texas soldiers could have  been outnumbered by 200 soldiers. Fannin had choosen to fight but was cut short due to Mexican reinforcements and had to surreder.  When Urrea took them hoastage they were gonna be imprisoned but Santa Anna said anyone who was faught against the Mexico was to be killed.  So Mexico shot more than 400 Texans outside of Goliad till they were dead.
  • Houstons army moved very quickly to progress to Harrisburg, from that point they moved down the Buffalo Bayou all the way to where it met the San Jacinto River by Lynch Ferry.  On the day April 20 the Texans stayed in a grove of trees on the high ground with an wide open feild in front of them.  The only way that the Mexican soldiers would be able to attack them was from the field.  The Mexicans set camp in the field and were in the sight of the Texans , and Mexican Colonel Pedro Delado was worried aout the location.  Then the Texans attack and the battle only lated 18 minutes.
