Edwards got his contract in 1825 he got permission to settle families near Nacogdoches. The contract required him to leave the old settlers alone but he wasn't happy with this rule, he wanted the settlers to pay extra. He made the old settlers mad in Oct 1826 his contract got canceled. His supporters took action and declared themselves free ,and they made the Fredonian Declaration of Independence. S.F.A, the militia and the Mexican Army stoped him.

Colonel Piedras thought that Bradburn was why that there was conflict, so he moved him. With him gone the people felt the threat to there freedom was gone. Austin's group didn't know the conflict was over so they loaded the cannon on a ship and set off for Velasco. Mexican troops would not let the rebels past and fighting broke out in June 1832. After three days fighting stopped Mexican soldiers ran out of ammunition.
The Goliad Massacre
In 1835 people weren't happy with Santa Anna fearing trouble a Mexican general Ugartechea ordered the people to give back a cannon. Texas refused to give the cannon back they buried it in an orchard. Ugartectechea sent troops to take the cannon. Gonzales tried to keep the troops out of their town. They sent people to other towns to ask for help, many people answered reinforcements came. The rebels came on Oct. 2 , 1835 the Mexican fired the Texans shot back.
Battle of San Jancinto
Texas rebels had fired a cannon Santa Anna reacted by putting a large blood-red flag it meant no survivors. Mexicans began firing William Travis sent a plea to other Texans it was requested help from death. Cannons hit the Alamo for hours. The leader of the battle was sick and pasted out on the 2nd day and Travis took over. Mexicans took over the cannon and turned it towards the Alamo and shot, when the smoke cleared all the Texans where dead.
On March 14 James Fannin received an order to withdraw to Victoria, instead he waited for his troops to come back from Refugo. On March 19 Texas troops walked into an opened prairie in fog. When they stopped to let the animals rest Urrea stopped them. With no choice they battled by Coleto. The Mexicans had several hundred more soldiers The Texans were outnumbered they were took back to Golaid. On March 27 over 400 Texans were shot.
Houston's army quickly moved to Harrisburg, they traveled down Buffalo Bayou to San Jacinto River.Houston had a meeting with his officers, and decided to attack in the afternoon. Texans had a group of 900 troops at 3:00 P.M the Texans moved to where the Mexicans couldn't see them. Many Mexicans were sleeping when the Texans came yelling "Remember the Alamo" and "Remember Goliad". Mexicans tried to flee or surrender the battle lasted 18 minutes the Texans had won.
