  • Philip II was held hostage during war and fell in love with Greek culture. He decided to unite Greece and spread Greek culture. To do so he became king and created an "indestructible" army. He married many greek women to create alliances. When he was sure he would win he attacked and united greece. He started to plan an attack against persia he was assassinated.
  • Alexander the great was Philips son. After his Fathers death Alexander succeded the throne. He finished his fathers plans by conquering persia then going forward and conquering Egypt. Alexander founded many cities and named 16 of them Alexandria. After a while, his troops got tired of fighting so they went back to Macedonia. On the way back Alexander got ill and Died.
  •  When Alexander died the Greek city states became independant once again. Ptolemy started a dynasty in Egypt. Seleucus started a dynasty in Persia. By the first century B.C. Greece was overtaken by the Romans.
