Storyboard Text

  • Hello today i am going to share how the water cycle works. The water cycle is: The changing of water into air, condensing into clouds, and then precipitates down to earth.
  • Fun fact about Evaporation. ¨Evaporation of sweat on the skin helps control the human body's temperature.¨
  • Let´s talk about Evaporation. Evaporation is the process that occurs when water changes from a liquid to a gas caused by heat.
  • Now let´s talk about condensation. Condensation is the cooling of water in the atmosphere, changing from gas to a liquid.
  • Fun fact: Condensation is the opposite of evaporation. Evaporation uses heat where as Condensation uses cooling.
  • Another part in the water cycle is Precipitation. Precipitation is when water droplets fall from the atmosphere in the form of rain, sleet, snow, or hail.
  • Fun fact: "The maximum speed of a falling raindrop can differ from 18 to 22 miles per hour." -Ohfact
  • The next step in the water cycle is Transportation.  This is the passage of water vapor from a plant to the atmosphere.
  • The final step is Run Off. Run Off is rainfall that is not absorbed by soil and then travels to a pond, lake, river, or ocean.
  • In Newark They are doing a project to protect the clean river and ponds that fill with Run Off.
