  • Beginning in the 1850's, agriculture had a revolution. Farmers started using better equipment and technology, and more railroads were built. (
  • In 1862, the Homestead Act arose. It gave 160 acres to all farmers that would farm it for 5 years, and the best part is: it was free! (
  • After the Civil War, farmers were going through a hard time because they lost most of their resources to the war. However, steam tractors became available after 1868, and farmers were able to work an acre in 30 minutes. (
