  • The Monroe Doctrine was a statement that issued a warning which Latin/South America where protected by the United States from European countries that wanted to take over.
  • The other countries where very happy with the arrangements. The other countries would have ended up taking over their territory.
  • The Latin and South America countries where able to continue living their lives without having the fear of slowly being taken over. At the same time, the United States was allowed to continue trade.
