The desperate king of Athens decided to strike a deal with Crete. Send 7 girls and 7 boys to the island, so they will be eaten by King Minos's pet, the Minotaur.

The prince of Athens, Theseus, knew that it was wrong to send 14 children to their death. So he decided that he will slay the beast, by pretending to be the seventh son.

The day the children arrived, Ariadne caught notice of Theseus and wrote him a note. Saying she will help him, in exchange for freedom of the island, so people could admire her beauty.
Once they entered into the labyrinth,Theseus told everyone to stay near the entrance and tied the string to the door. Theseus then slayed the beast and followed the string to the children, so Ariadne could free them

They escaped on a ship and sailed without any witnesses. On the journey home, they stopped at Naxos for supplies. After Ariadne pleaded to get off, she soon fell asleep, allowing Theseus to sail quietly away.
