- Matilde got an invetation to the ball.Matilde sad because she needs a new dress for the ball.Her husband went out and bought her a new one.But there was one more this Matilde needed.

- She needs some jewels for the ball.She goes and visits her friend Mme.Forestier.Mme. Forestier let her choose what jewels she wants.Matilde looked at many of Mme.Forestier jewels until she finally found a necklace that was in a black satin box.Matilde goes to the ball and dances with passion.She dances all night till she couldn't no more.

- She arrives home after a long night of dancing.She soon noticed that the necklace was no longer around her neck.Matilde shocked that she lost the necklace starts looking for it but it was no where to be found.M.Loisel goes out and searches for it but was unsuccesful.

- Be grateful for what you have because you'll never know when you can lose everything.
- Matilde had to work to pay off the new necklace she got to replace Mme.Forestier's necklace she lost.After ten years she finally paid off her debt.
- Matilde ran into Mme.Forestier and ended up telling her the truth.Mme.Foresteir was shocked when she heard the truth.Mme.Forestier told Matilde that the necklace was fake and not expensive.
