The setting takes place in the big apple.Where the air is crisp and the water is chilled. Due to the clouds of fog, and the fact that the city never sleeps,Percy struggled completing his mission without revealing the secret. Pushing through the busy sleeps and crowds is a dilemma he has to other come.
In the fantasy novel,Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan, is about family, and reveals that we should do everything and anything for the ones we love.
I can relate this book to the realistic fiction novel,The Girl is Used to Be by April Henry. I can relate the two because both go to the depths of the earth and risk there lives for their family. Both characters never give up,and in the end get what they desired most.
"I am coming mom!"
The universal conflict is man vs. nature. Percy Jackson has to fight with mystical creatures in order to save his mom. Most people can't see what he sees,so it is up to him to defeat these monsters.
The mood of the story is intriguing. This book is a real page turner filled with twists and hooks. You wont be able to put it down because you will feel like you have to know what happens next. This book makes you feel like your on the edge of your seat.
