  • Foreshadowing
  • Ripper
  • Characterization
  • External Conflict
  • The title of Stefan Petrucha's book, Ripper, foreshadows that Jack the Ripper will be a prominent figure. With the knowledge of the killer, one would infer that Jack the Ripper is the killer.
  • The author shows characterization through Carver fighting the killer multiple times. Only a brave person could withstand fights against a murderer.
  • External conflict was shown throughout the book as Carver tries to find out who his father is. He is audibly fighting, in person, against his killer of a father or a dead end in the case.
