  • Evidence 1: One of the lady's Said I'd see Mr Goodman here in the wee hours of the morning standing in front of his house looking up at the sky as if he were waiting for something.
  • One major theme in The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street by Rod Serling is that people can be their own worst enemies. For my first piece of evidence, It shows that this woman, friend, or neighbor of Les Goodman was accusing him of being someone he isn't or being an alien. This part shows that when in a weird situation people will become enemies. And will blame people so they don't get blamed and become the enemy that they aren't . The second piece of evidence, Shows that even if it was Charlie's friend or neighbor they would kill them to protect themselves from danger in a weird situation. And the final piece of evidence shows, That from a direct quote from Figure One. Basically says that if you throw people into darkness, stop their machines, and communication they will destroy each other trying to find a scapegoat. In conclusion people can be their own enemy's in weird situations or hard times and will accuse, kill, and fight each other because there is something that is not normal going on.
