  • Romeo is impetuous because he makes a move on Juliet, and continues to visit her even though he is forbidden
  • "Good pilgrim, you do wrong with your hands too much"
  • "My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand"
  • Juliet is naive because she loves someone who she is forbidden to see
  • "O Romeo, O Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?"
  • Mercution is Romeo's foil because in this scene, Mercutio teases Romeo for believing in love, while Mercution hates it
  •  "prick love for pricking and you beat love down!"
  • The nurse is humorous  by constantly providing comic relief and making jokes throughout the play
  • "A man, young lady! lady, such a man As all the world - why hes a man of wax!"
  • "Verona's summer hath not such a flower"
  • Lord Capulet is known to be angry because in this and many other scenes, his emotions power his responses, and comes off as rude
  • "Hang thee, young baggage! Disobedient wretch!"
  • Paris is kind because when Juliet "died" he brought her flowers, unknowing of her and Romeo's relationship.
