Storyboard Text

  • Oh, I know you're forever scrubbing. But that stable smell! I'll never get it out of my hair as long as I live!
  • Maybe you think it would smell prettier with a hold full of human bodies, half of them rotting in their chains before anyone knew they were dead!
  • Remember. Only the guilty ones stay afloat.
  • In chapter 1, Prudence Cruff dropped her doll into the river, so Kit jumps in to retrieve it. Prudence now respects Kit, but the rest of the Cruffs think she is a witch.
  • Give it back to her at once!
  • Father-no! I never had-
  • In chapter 2, Kit says she would never get the horse smell out of her hair ever again, and Nat retorts angrily by saying that he would rather have the whole ship stink than have a hold full of slaves.
  • Of course we go! That is what the Sabbath is for.
  • Do you mean we have to go?
  • In chapter 3, when Kit arrives at Aunt Rachel's house, Kit gets reminded by Nat Eaton not to let anyone see her in the water. People will think she is a witch.
  • There are worse things than revolution!
  • In chapter 4, Matthew Wood catches the women trying on Kit's fancy clothing and forces them to take it off.
  • Do what I say!
  • In chapter 5, when Kit and Judith were walking back from Sabbath in the morning, Judith breaks the news that They have to go to another service in the afternoon.
  • I won't do it! I absolutely won't indure that all over again!
  • In chapter 6, Reverend Gershom Bulkley and John Holbrook come over for dinner, and Matthew Wood and Reverend Gershom Bulkley began to argue about loyalty to the king.
