We must make a fire
The term "fire" is used as a way to show the hope these boys have of survivng/being rescued from the island. At the start they are strong in their beliefs of survival and being rescued.
A Fire! Make a fire!
When the island caught fire, it represented just how sure they were they would be alright in the end.
Oh you got your small fire...
When the fire went out, that also put out the possibility of being rescued as they had no signal any more.
You let the fire go out
How many are we? And yet we can't keep a fire going to make smoke.
.When the assembly occurs about the case of the fire, Ralph tries to help everyone and reassure them with everyone's help, they can be rescued.
While watching the fire and sustaining the group's hope for survival, Sam and Eric saw something that could put out the fire and their hopes of survival
We saw the beast Plain!
After the hunt for the beast, and they wounded it, giving them the realization it could be killed, they would relight the fire with hope that they may kill the beast of the island.
We've got to start the fire again.
