  • The Proclamation of 1763 made it illegal for colonists to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains
  • You can not settle west of the Appalachian
  • The Sugar Act in 1764 and put taxes on molasses and sugar, because the colonists had to pay for war costs.
  • There's a tax on sugar now!
  • The Stamp Act of 1765 was another tax act that put a tax on paper products to assist the paying of war costs.

  • The Stamp Act Congress was a Congress formed in October 1765 made up of nine delegates and decided to boycott British goods
  • The Boston Massacre was a fatal occurrence in 1770 that killed five colonists and led to the Revolutionary War
  • The Committees of Correspondence was formed in 1764 and wrote to other colonies encouraging opposition to the recent British prohibition of American money.
