Charter Colony of Connecticut King Charles
The Husking Bee is place where a bunch of people gather to husk corn. They sing, dance, and laugh at jokes at the husking bee. It is a fun way to husk the corn right before winter.
John tells Kit his is going to ask Matthew to court Mercy. At the house when John goes to ask Matthew to court Mercy Judith thinks that it is for her and then Matthew thinks it is for Judith. So now John is courting Judith not Mercy.
The charter is what gives the colonies rights. When Sir Andros comes to take the charter away because the English government thinks that the colonies are too strong and could rebel against them. So the Connecticut Colony decides to hide the charter.
Start of story
Nat Eaton and his two sea buddies illuminated William's new house because Nat was jealous Kit was marrying William. Nat and his two sea buddies are stuck in the stocks for 5 hours, banished from Wethersfield and for his face to be seen on Wethersfield land, thirty lashes on the whipping post.
This is where Kit finally feels like home. She learns that Nat also comes to Hannah's house . She also learns that Nat is also teaching Prudence to read. She feels shocked when she hears that Nat has been teaching Prudence.
In the start of the story, Prudence was a scared, woebegone little girl and now she is a confident and happy little girl. She will always go to Hannah's house because she feels good there. Prudence, Kit and Hannah will not be at Hannah's again because Hannah's house got burned down.
