Nat, my sea fairing friend!
Kit and Judith were walking to Uncle Matthews onion field when Kit saw the Great Meadows, she thought they were beautiful and she asked Judith about them. Judith explained that a witch named Hannah Tupper lived there but Kit felt bad for Hannah. When they got home from the fields Mercy told Kit that she got a job to help at a dame school.
In chapter 9 Kit decides to do a play from the bible but it gets to out of control. The people who run all the dame schools came in while kids were fighting and said they may have to shut down the dame school. Kit gets very sad and goes to the Great Meadow where Hannah finds her, Kit finds out that Hannah is a fragile old lady and Hannah helps Kit to calm down.
I feel like I don't belong here
When I went to Jamacia there was a bird that you remind me of
Kit returns to the Woods' house and tells Mercy she got her job back, she then tells her that she met Hannah Tupper. Aunt Rachel overheard their conversation and told Kit not to go there again, but she could not promise that. Later she visits Hannah again and Nat comes in,it turns out Nat is Hannah's "sea fairing friend".
Prudence has been leaving Kit flowers and Kit catches her. Kit starts to teach Prudence near Hannah's house and Prudence is nervous because she thinks Hannah is a witch. Then she meets Hannah and really likes her.
She isn't a witch, don't worry.
What if the witch is bad?
Kit goes to Hannah's house and fixes it up with Nat then they talk and bond. Nat walks Kit home which causes William and Uncle Matthew to be mad. Nat and William then stare each other down because they both like Kit.
