The Boston Tea Party started because of the Tea Act. The Tea Act was a new law that Parliament passed. The Tea Act said that one British company would be the only company to sell tea to the colonies.
Colonists dressed up as Mohawks and went on the British's ship with the tea and threw the tea into the Boston Harbor. This event was known as the Boston Tea Party
King George placed the Intolerable Acts on the colonists. The Intolerable Acts were the closing of Boston's port and forced the colonists to take sides in the war between Boston and Britain. This hurt the city really badly by putting all the colonists out of business.
