We ended up finding some red candles that were on the dinning room table, once they were lit, my grand began reminiscing on her trip from Puerto Rico to New Jersey along with meeting up with my grandpa.
A Day like today....
It was about 46 years ago when I took the plane to come here. It was a cold afternoon and I was excited to be in this different state. Once I got here, I set out to find a job. Years past and I ended up getting settled down in my new home when I met Grandpa
Ah yes! I came to New Jersey the same year actually, I remember it was a cold one too. After arriving at a young age, I found a job, during these years of hard work I met your Grandma, I was shy to talk to her at first but it was one of the best decisions to talk to her.
We all sat down with gifts in our laps when the power finally back turned on, we put the candles away and sat back down to enjoy the rest of our night
The clock at hit twelve by the time that the stories were told and all the food was eaten. It had already been a tradition to open our gifts at this time and watch TV but from the day forwards we ended our Christmases in stories from the past and memories we would not forget.
We continued our traditions that were pasted down from our families in Puerto Rico so you guys would not forget that we came from the small town in Lares, Puerto Rico.
