"Am I that man who lay upon the bed? he cried upon his knees." Pg 633
"what has he done with his money"? Pg 658
Did you hear about Scrooge's death?
"Its likely to be very cheap funeral said the same speaker, for upon my life, I don't know of anybody to go to it. Suppose we make up a party and volunteer"? Pg 658
"Suppose we make up a party, and volunteer? I don't mind going if lunch is provided." Pg 658
"I thought he'd never die." Pg 658
" If there is any person in the town who feels emotion caused by this man's death." Pg 661
The dead man is Scrooge
Me and Mrs Cratchit have heard. If only he had a family to care for him and have a proper funeral.
Scrooge is the dead man that no one cares about Scrooge sees that people are only having a funeral for free food. This makes Scrooge feel guilty because no one liked him because he was to greedy. And this is a regret Scrooge has.
"Flowing the finger, read upon the stone of the neglected grave his own name, Ebenezer Scrooge." Pg 663
" Am I that man who lay upon the bed? Cried upon his knees. Pg 663
Yes said the spirit.
This makes Scrooge have more guilt because after he passed away, no one cared about him, the only had a funeral to get some money and food. Scrooge sees this with the spirit in the feature and he wants to change.
"You nature interceded for me and pities me. Assure me that I yet may change these shadows you have shown me by an altered life?... I will honor in my heart and try to keep it all year." Pg 663
Spirit, is there any way I can change to stop me from having guilt. And also for people to like me?
This makes Scrooge have guilt because when he died no one cared for him and that made him realize he needs to change because everyone thinks he is rude and greedy.
This represents guilt because when the spirit shows Scrooge is the dead man, that no one likes and when people are happy he dies he is upset and whats to change by getting into christmas spirit.
This shows guilt because, Scrooge is asking if he can change so he doesn't hold any more regret and guilt. Scrooge wants people to see he is a good person and that he isn't greedy.
Yes if you change these shadows in your altered life.
