  • Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
  • Military Leadership
  • They call me "Unconditional Surrender" Grant because of the conditions I don't give.
  • I helped Lincoln win his reelection in these terrible times.
  • Military Strategy
  • With this plan, we can slowly choke and suffocate the South.
  • Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States, serving as the first Republican to become a President. He served as President throughout the Civil War, with the Union winning the war against the Confederates.
  • Industrial Advantage
  • Thanks to industries, we can continue the battles with the supplies.
  • Some of the most known military leaders were Ulysses S. Grant and William T. Sherman. Ulysses S. Grant led the Union army to victory in the Civil War with Robert E. Lee surrendering to his army. William T. Sherman led a campaign from Georgia to the Atlantic Ocean which saved Abraham Lincoln's reelection.
  • Transportation Advantage
  • Thanks to transportation, we were able to get our supplies quicker.
  • The Anaconda Plan, proposed by Winfield Scott, is an offensive strategy by the North to weaken the South. This would prohibit Southern trade with the rest of the world. This plan would also isolate sections of the South and capture its vital cities including Richmond, Virginia, the capital of the South.
  • Population Advantage
  • WE LOVE AMERICA!
  • The North had about 90% of the nation's industries before the South broke away from the United States. Since the North had more industries than the South, the Union army would be able to gain more supplies from industries. Some supplies that industries gave to the Union army include clothing, boots, and weaponry.
  • The North had about 72% of the nation's railroad tracks before the South broke away from the United States. Since the North had more railroad tracks than the South, the Union army would be able to have their supplies delivered to them faster. There is a vast amount of railroad tracks so that they cannot easily be disrupted.
  • The North had a larger population than the South throughout the Civil War. The North can raise a larger army than the South due to the population growth. More people in the North support the Union army's war effort during the Civil War.
