  • Britain tried to restrict U.S trade with other countrys' and Britain took American soldiers and made them serve in the Royal Navy

  • The U.S lost many battles trying to gain parts of lower Canada but managed to win the Battle of Lake Erie. And the in 1814 the British forces ransacked Chesapeake bay and burned down the White House
  • Effects of the War
  • The war seemed to get better for the U.S in the west coming off of a big victory at Lake Erie the US was able to take back Detroit
  • In 1813 the Creek Indians rebelied, and where taken down by militia men lead by andrew Jackson at Horseshoe Bend, Alabama not knowing a treaty has been signed
  • The war ended with the signing of the Treaty of Ghent and the Federalists party also came crashing down for being, "unpatriotic" for being antiwar
