  • Marathon Battle 
  • We have been here, at Marathon waiting to begin our battle with you, Greeks
  •  This was   the Greeks plans, to catch you off guard and attack your military when you least expect it!  
  • King Xerxes  of Persia wants Revenge
  • We want  revenge
  • Spartans getting ready for the Battle of Thermopylae
  •   Darius   of Persia sends his military men to Marathon to defeat the Greeks. The Greeks never came. The Persians decide to pack up their ships and go to Athens to attack. The Greeks show up and attack. The Greeks show up and attack the  Persians 
  • Battle of Thermopylae 
  •  The  Persians were angry and they  wanted revenge. King Xerxes invaded Greece with 200,000 troops. So they Greeks-city states are sure to win the fight all city-states come together to try to defeat the Persians
  • Battle of Salamis
  • We are stuck no!
  • The Spartans are getting ready for the Battle of Thermopylae. King Leonidas is getting ready with a military force of 7,000 soldiers. The Spartans are trying to defeat the Persians by cutting off their army's supplies and from reaching Athens.
  • Battle of Plataea 
  • The Persians defeated the Spartans at Thermopylae. A traitor from the Spartans told the Persians to attack the Greeks from behind. King Leonidas tells his troop to go fight with only 300 left until the end.
  • Us the Spartans are going to attack the Persians with  300 soldiers
  • Themistocles from Athens has thought of a plan to attack the Persian's ship. The Athenians made the Persians into the strait of Salamis. A strait is a narrow sea between two landmasses. The Persian ships were big to move around, however the Athenian ships were small so they were able to move around perfectly. The Greeks attacked the Persians and the Persian ships thanked. The Greeks won at the Battle of Salamis
  • The Greek city-states come together with a stronger army and a bigger army yet. The Greeks fight the Persians at the Battle of Plataea. With over 100,000 soldiers on each side, the Greeks defeated the Persian army. Persians no longer control of any Greek city-states. Persia and the Greek city-states eventually find peace with each other. 
  • We Athenians have defeated the Persians! We tricked their navy by strategy of knowing our land and were are much smarter.
