Ernest Hemingway is trying to tell us not to give up and persevere when things are hard.
“But remember how you went eighty-seven days without fish and then we caught big ones every day for three weeks” (PG 1).
Eighty-seven days without a fish is hard because there is no food and the fish he does catch is his income.
Hemingway wrote The Old Man and The Sea to persuade us not to give up on our dreams when things are hard and difficult
The Old man complains about his hand cramps but He still keeps on going no matter how bad his hands are
He wrote Old Man and The Sea for people who give up on things easily.
