Maddalena loved to sing and play lute. She was very talented and loved to learn music and she had a passion for it.
Maddalena and Isabella de'Medici were close friends and Maddalena dedicated many of her songs to Isabella.
Maddalena performed a lot. It was not common for women to be anything more than just housewives so she faced a lot of disapproval. Despite that, she continued to pursue her passion.
Maddalena Casulana was the first woman in the history of western music to publish her own music. She was making a big impact on future female composers.
Maddalena Casulana died in Italy 1590 from an unknown cause. She had changed music and was a role model for female composers to come.
