  • When a child is age three, they are able to answer simple questions.  They may mix up some of their speech however they can comprehend simple questions and reply.
  • Hello, I'm Dr. Avery, thank you for meeting with me.
  • A four year old is improving on their speaking and is able to express more emotion through the conversation.  They begin to rhyme words, sing and tell jokes at this age.
  • At age five, children can answer questions in 5-6 word sentences.  Their grammar may still have errors.
  • If a child is not able to respond to basic questions, does not respond at all or does not respond appropriately by the time they begin school (age 5) then there may be something wrong.  Their is potential for mental disabilities, comprehensive disorders, hearing problems, and other possibilities that the child should be tested for.
