What?!? I did no such thing!
The Proclamation of 1763 was an act that prevented the Colonists from moving Westward into Indian land. It was put into effect to calm the fears of the Indians previously occupying the land. This upset the colonists because they were originally fighting for that land.
The Tea Act of 1773
TEA 20% OFF!!
The Stamp Act was an act in the colonies that required printed goods, documents, newspapers, etc. to have a stamp, which was taxed. This caused many colonists to oppose the Stamp Act because they were being taxed without consent or representation, meaning that they had no control over if they were going to be taxed or if they had any representation in Parliament.
The Intolerable Acts
I'm sorry. I just have no hay.
The Townshend Acts were a series of laws passed by the British Government that placed new taxes and took away some freedoms from the colonists including putting taxes on imports of paper, paint, lead, glass, and tea, creating an American Customs Board to collect taxes, setting up new courts in America, and giving British officials the right to search colonists' houses and businesses. The colonists were upset because they felt that it was unconstitutional for the Parliament to place taxes and laws on them without representation.
The Quartering Acts
What do I look Like? A common person!? Serve me something better that this garbage!
The Tea act of 1773 was a follow-up to the Townshend acts and was passed by Parliament on May 19, 1773. It was made to "bail out" the East India company and expand the company's monopoly on the tea trade to all of the Colonies, selling lots of tea at a reduced price.
The Intolerable Acts were implemented in 1774. Four of these laws were made specifically to punish the Colonists in Massachusetts for the Boston Tea party. The Fifth act was related to Quebec, which was seen as an additional threat to the liberty and expansion of the colonies. The first Intolerable Act closed the port of Boston so tightly that the colonists could not bring hay from Charlestown to give to their starving horses.
The Quartering acts, were two acts, the 1765 Quartering Act and the 1774 Quartering Act, which was one of the Intolerable Acts. The Quartering Act was established so British troops were to be given food and shelter at the expense of the American colonists.
