  • Hello I'm George, bush, and I'm here today to talk to you about photosynthesis.
  • Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants, and some other autotrophs create organic molecules that they can use as food, in the form of glucose.
  • But where does photosynthesis happen?
  • In the chloroplasts of course. An organelle found in green photosynthesising organisms where they perform photosynthesis.
  • Chloroplasts are green because of the pigment chlorophyll, which allows the chloroplasts to harness the energy of sunlight.
  • Photosynthesis also requires water and carbon dioxide. These molecules are broken down using the sunlight energy and rearranged in the from of Glucose.
  • Its written out like this:6CO2 + 6H2O -----> 602 +C6H12O6
  • Or, 6 carbon dioxide + 6 water + light energy --> 6 Oxygen and Glucose
  • Photosynthesis is important because it
