When Napoleon first arrived the first thing he saw was a dozen naked scary men staring at him with bow and arrows drawn. They had green mucus dripping from their nose and tobacco wads in their lip. Napoleon did not know what he was going to see or what to expect going into the new society so he was shocked and scared at first.
Because meals took so long to prepare with the supplies he had, and he still needed time to do field work, Napoleon had to limit himself to only one quick meal a day to be able to keep up on his work.

Neighboring groups fought against each other and women were even abducted. When Napoleon first arrived the Indians feared that they were raiders and they were skiddish . Napoleons enthusiasm for collecting data diminished i proportion to the number of times alarm was raised.
Within weeks everything Napoleon owned smelled the same. His habits of personal hygiene went down the drain and he lived in his own filth.
The Yanamamo were very aggressive and always demanding things from Napoleon.
